Virtus And Taigun Lead Sales

The Virtus and Taigun remain Volkswagen's top-selling models. Together, they made up 2,239 units, or nearly 98% of total sales in August.
Virtus sold 1,301 units, making up about 57% of Volkswagen's total sales for the month. Sales fell by 373 units compared to August 2025, a drop of 22%. Compared to July 2026, sales fell by 119 units, or 8%.
Taigun sold 938 units, down 6% from 1,001 units in August 2025. The bigger drop was month-on-month, with sales falling by 287 units from July's 1,225 units, a decline of 23%. This made the Taigun the biggest reason behind Volkswagen's drop in sales compared to July.
Tayron, Tiguan And Golf
Tayron sold 42 units, down from 45 units in July, a 7% drop. Since there were no Tayron sales in August 2025, it added 42 units to the year-on-year total. Tiguan sales fell to just 2 units, compared to 8 units a year earlier and 23 units in July. The Golf sold zero units in August 2026, against 36 units in August 2025 and 2 units in July.
End Note
Volkswagen's August numbers show how much the company depends on the Virtus and Taigun. The Virtus stayed the biggest seller, while Taigun's sharp monthly drop hurt overall sales the most. The rest of the lineup added just 44 units combined, so a recovery will depend on these two models picking up again. The numbers alone don't show whether the drop is due to lower demand, supply issues, or dealers adjusting inventory.
