Pros & Cons of XUV 3XO
What we admire in this car
The 82 kW output and 200 Nm torque in both fuel modes address the usual concern of reduced performance when running on CNG.
The certified 24.7 km/kg efficiency offers the potential for lower running costs without relying on a naturally aspirated engine.
Underfloor twin cylinders preserve a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space, improving everyday practicality.
Peak torque arrives between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm, which should benefit everyday drivability in city traffic.
Six airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX mounts are standard across the range, alongside dedicated CNG gas-leak detection.
Even the entry-level MX Edge variant includes a touchscreen, cruise control, rear AC vents, a 60:40 split rear seat, and a rear-view camera. So, you get all the practical features at a pocket-friendly price.
What could have been better
Premium features such as the Skyroof, twin HD screens, dual-zone climate control, and Dolby Atmos are available only with higher variants.
The 24.7 km/kg figure is certified efficiency, not a guarantee of real-world fuel economy.
Although the twin-cylinder layout preserves usable space, the 270-litre boot may still be restrictive for families carrying bulky luggage.
Should I buy the XUV 3XO?
You should consider the Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG if you want a compact SUV that combines the lower running costs of CNG with the performance and features associated with a turbocharged petrol vehicle. Its 82 kW power output and 200 Nm torque in both fuel modes make it particularly appealing to buyers who do not want to sacrifice driving performance for fuel economy. The claimed 24.7 km/kg efficiency and underfloor twin-cylinder packaging, which preserves 270 litres of usable boot space, further strengthen its everyday practicality.
The safety package is another major advantage, with six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX mounts and integrated gas-leak detection offered across the range. Meanwhile, features such as the 26.03 cm touchscreen, cruise control and rear AC vents make even the entry variant reasonably well-equipped. Buyers seeking a more premium experience can consider higher variants with features such as the Skyroof, twin HD screens, dual-zone climate control and Dolby Atmos audio.
However, your decision should depend on your budget, access to CNG refuelling and expected monthly running. The higher variants cost considerably more than the entry-level version, and actual fuel savings will vary with usage and local fuel prices. You should also evaluate whether the available boot space meets your luggage requirements.
Buy the Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG if you want a feature-rich, turbocharged compact SUV with the potential for lower running costs and minimal compromise on performance. It is particularly worth considering for buyers who drive regularly and want CNG economy without moving to a less powerful, naturally aspirated vehicle.
